Edgar Peak now Unuspended

Edgar Peak (San Bernardino County) resides in the Providence Mountains State Recreation Area. The staff there has communicated that access is now available, but on weekends only. Consequently, the Management Committee has voted to unsuspend it. Hikers must park at the Visitor Centre and Park Headquarters at Mitchell Caverns and obtain permission to hike the peak before heading out.  For Edgar Peak, follow the instructions for DPS route A (do not attempt route B). For neighboring Mitchell Point, follow the instructions for DPS route D (do not attempt route C). The Mitchell Caverns are also open but require advance ticket purchase on-line. An updated peak list will be published soon!
