Join us in Death Valley for this Sierra Club Desert Peaks Section classic event. We will set up camp at Slabby Acres (just off Hwy 190, across from Pyramid Pk). Whether you like your chili Texas-style (no beans), traditional, or vegetarian, bring your favorite recipe or just hearty taste buds. Cook for free or taste for $10.
We’ll kick off the event with Happy Hour at 5pm, during which cooks can finalize preparing their chili dishes (basic preparations can be done at home). This will be followed by chili tasting and judging, and then with a campfire to end the evening. Prizes will be awarded by category, with special recognition for the spiciest chili, best presentation, most original recipe, and best overall chili. Hiking opportunities nearby include DPS-listed peaks Pyramid Pk, Corkscrew Pk, and Eagle Mtn.
