FROM THE CHAIRMAN- Gene Gail
The snows have given the Sierra back to the Ski Mountaineers, but the cool, clear, enchanted air has given us back the deserts. Although it may be a far cry from the quiet atmosphere of our deserts, we have a meeting place just off the noisy freeway where we may bring our unconverted friends, show them pictures of our desert peaks, and inject them with our enthusiasm. We will meet the first Wednesday of each month at Echo Park Playground Clubhouse.
We have planned a full schedule of climbs to please both those driven by the eager thrust of youth who must prove their worthiness to conquer any climb no matter how strenuous or absurd and also climbs to satisfy those who have already proved their worth, with nostalgic visits to those remembered scenes of desert beauty that has not changed as all else in their lives has changed.

NOVEMBER 3 SOCIAL MEETING-
Plan to be with us on Wednesday at 7:30 as we stage our first all-social meeting. There will be no business transacted. Harry Melts will do the premiere with his showing of his travels in and about Canyonlands National Park. We expect to entertain many new Club members who may have never seen a Desert Peak before.
