MINUTES: DPS MEMBERSHIP BANQUET DINNER MEETING
LUMINARIAS RESTAURANT
MAY 6, 1981

The festivities started at 6:30 p.m. with an hour's worth of attitude adjustment. The proverbial "adjuster" was flowing as usual but took a back seat to the exchange of good talking and most of all to the grand display of eighteen of Betty McKosker's desert paintings. Representative paintings were of Castle Dome, Kofa, Pahrump, Stewart, Needle and Manly. Several lucky members bought paintings and Betty generously donated the proceeds totaling $160.00 to the club treasury. The Secretary sent a letter of thanks to Betty from the club.

Approximately 75 members and guests sat down at 8:30 p. m. to a dinner of Teriyaki Brochette. Betty Wallin again designed the program which marked each place setting. Her artist's rendition of our symbol - the Desert Big Horn Sheep - is a DPS tradition.

Chairperson, Barbara Reber, opened the meeting. Her announcements included one from the Mountaineering Committee that there were no new peaks to add to the list this year. Also John McDermott was presented as the newest list finisher having finished the list by climbing Pico RaSco on February 15, 1981.

Guests eagerly eyed their ticket numbers for the next event - the drawing for door and raffle prizes. Mike Manchester was in charge of this onerous and responsible task. With his usual eye for pulchritude, he chose Linda McDermott as his assistant.

Elizabeth Cohen drew the grand door prize generously donated by Dolt Industries.

Raffle tickets were mixed and Linda came up with these winners:
