Glass Mtn- The southern high point is the true summit, rather than the one bearing the beach mark.
Boundary Pk- The scree slope on the east face leading down into Trail Canyon is safe and makes for an easy descent.

White Mtn- At about 11,600' the road has a locked gate. Either get permission (I know not who) or be prepared for about 5 or six miles to the summit.

Waucoba Mtn- The road to Squaw Flat is badly washed out a good distance from the flat. Who knows when it will be repaired!

Smith Mtn- The roads shown on the topo sheet still exist and are passable to pickups. There is only one bad stretch at the east end of Gold Valley, which consists of a series of washes.

Remember the dramatic rescue just a year ago when the young Dart-Kellogg, Jr party was rescued on Picacho del Diablo? Several Sierra Club members were members of the rescue team.
The family of Ogden Kellog, Sr sent out homemade Christmas greetings this past season and among recipients were our members, Bep & Bud Bingham. These good Samaritans spent several days in the rescue.
The verse on the card is appropriate and expresses their appreciation:
'Love of family, stranger, friend
Without that love- a tragic end.
Joy...... after dark despair
Such a joy- beyond compare.
Gratitude.... so very deep
And with it, promises to keep
Peace within- but not without,
War can't bring that Peace about.
