| Jan 15-16 | Kofa Peak and Castle Dome in Arizona. A fine chance to log in two DPS, one an Emblem. Leaders are Arkel Erb, Ernie Spiehler, and Bob Van Allen. |
| Jan 22-23 | The height of the climbing season to the high points of the Bristol and Clipper Mtns in the Mojave Desert. These are exploratory treks and will be led by Ellen Siegal and Andy Smatko. |
| Feb 2-Wed nite. | Echo Park Playground Clubhouse again hails Gene Gail and his program on the "Beauty and Facination of the Deserts". |
