BY-LAWS

DESERT PEAKS SECTION

OF THE

ANGELES CHAPTER OF THE SIERRA CLUB

As revised and approved by the Section Membership March 21, 1963.

ARTICLE I

NAME OF SECTION

Section 1. The name of the Section shall be the Desert Peaks Section of the Angeles Chapter of the Sierra Club.

ARTICLE II

PURPOSES

Section 1. The purposes of the Section shall be:
(a) To explore the desert mountain area of the Southwest and Baja California.
(b) To study, gather data, and maintain records of the flora, fauna, geology, mineralogy, archeology, history, and other matters of interest of such area, and to aid in the conservation and preservation thereof.
(C) To stimulate interest in climbing the desert mountain ranges and to cultivate a fine comradeship in and understanding of mountain climbing.

ARTICLE III

PLACE OF BUSINESS

Section 1. Regular Members. Any membar of the Sierra Club may become a member of the Desert Peaks Section upon;
(a) Climbing and six mountains on the peaks of the DPS list maintained by the Section.
(b) Making application for membership in writing to the Secretary-Treasurer of the Section.
(c) Such members will retain membership so long as they subscribe to the Section Newsletter.
