RECIPE FOR LOGAN BREAD Bob Greenawalt

Recently a friend of mine gave me this recipe with the tip that old mountain men held this as a staple food. I submit it to the knapsackers. I don't know the origin of the name.

    Logan Bread
3 lbs. whole wheat flour
9 oz. dark brown sugar
8 oz. powdered milk
1-1/2 tespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 pkg. Kellog K. concentrate
1 cup melted shortening
3 cups whole milk
1-3/4 cups honey
1/2 cup black strap molasses
1 cup raisins
3/4 cup chopped walnuts
1 lb. dates
