HIGHLIGHT OF FEBRUARY 14th BUSINESS MEETING

Meeting called to order by
Chairman John Robinson with 18 present.
Treasurer's Report showed a
balance of $32.03 for the section.
A motion was passed to amend the
By-Laws statement "qualifying peaks" to read "Peaks of the DPS List". A motion
to remove Pinnacate Peak from the DPS list was defeated, Old Dad Mtn, was voted
onto the peaks list, making a total of 57 peaks now on the DPS list. A motion
was made to refer the question of adding Navajo Mtn to the DPS List to a
committee composed of Tom and Trudi Hunt (passed).
A motion was made
(Robinson-Hunt) to amend Article IV, Section 1 of the By-Laws. The proposed
change, to be voted upon at the March 21st meeting, reads as
follows: |
A regular meeting shall be held in
February of each year. At this meeting members of the Section shall select from
the membership a minimum of five nominees for the Management Committee of the
Section. Those names shall be placed on a ballot and mailed within two weeks to
all members of the Section who are entitled to vote. Completed ballots must be
received by the Secretary of the Section by April 1st. They then shall be
counted by an election committee. The five nominees with the highest number of
votes shall constitute the new Management Committee, They shall meet within two
weeks and select from their number the following officers: Chairman,
Vice-Chairman, Secretary-Treasurer, and two Members-at-Large. They shall take
office June 1st as the Management Committee and supervise the affairs of the
Section for the ensuing year. |

Valley was suggested for addition to the DPS List. It shall be voted upon at
the March 21st meeting.
