THE OCTOBER 12 D.P.S. MEETING Monroe Levy,
Sec-Treas. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Harry Melts at 7:35 p.m. There were 15 members present. Proposed revisions to the DPS By-Laws were discussed at length and numerous changes were suggested and accepted. (Ed. note: See back of issue) The date of the DPS annual meeting was changed from Dec. 6 to Dec. 14 so as not to conflict with the SPS Banquet. Nominations were made for the 1962 management committee. The following were nominated: |

GET RESERVATIONS IN EARLY FOR SPECTACULAR HI-LO PANAMINT BUS TRIP April 28-29 |

The Telescope Peak hike planned for next April 28-29 has been broadened into a bus trip with a hi-lo traverse of the Panamint Range. The Greyhound will drop the participants near the Charcoal Kilns; Pack will be carried up a short distance to the Panamint Crest. Telescope Peak will be ascended via the easy 7 mile trail; Then the group will knapsack down to Hanaupah Springs for the over-night camp. Sunday morning a lengthy descent will be made to the bottom of Death Valley where the bus will pick the participants up. Overall, about 3000' feet will be gained and 11,300 foot lost. In view of the popularity of this spectacular adventure, those wishing to attend should mail a check for $11.50 payable to Robert Greenawalt soon to insure your reservation.
