days from the date of publication has been allowed for the transmittal of objections. Such protests may be presented in writing to the State Supervisor, Bureau of Land Management, Department of the Interior, Room 801 Ca1ifornia Fruit Building, 11th and J Streets, Sacramento 14, Calif. until Jan 28, 1956.

Following authorization for publication of this proposed withdrawal in the Federal Register, this agency received notification from the Dept. of the interior that additional processing action on all withdrawal petitions by the military should be withheld pending further notice. Therefore, following expiration of the protest period on the proposed Aerial Gunnery Range "B" withdrawal, further action will be held in abeyance, pending receipt of additional instructions from the Dept. of the Interior.

Under prevailing procedure, if public response indicates a public hearing is necessary, the time and place of the hearing is announced sufficient1y in advance to allow all interested parties to be present. Following such a hearing the Secretary of the Interior subsequently publishes his determination on the matter in the Federal Register, and a separate copy is sent to each interested party of record.

THAT WILL BE 25¢ PLEASE .....

Ever have anyone say that to you when they pay you a compliment? Well, we'd like to say it too, but for a different reason. We'd like to continue sending you the DPS newsletter, but the Section feels that a small contribution of 25$ from each member wou1d make the newssheet self-supporting. The Hendersons just bought a new addressograph, and for 02¢ a plate, they can make up a plate for each member and send your envelope through the addressograph, simplifing that part of the business. Just put two dimes and a nickel on a sheet of paper with scotch tape, with your name and address and send it to Margie Henderson, 1152 Picacho Drive, La Habra, California. That will guarantee your receiving all the DPS news worth printing - and some that probably isn't - for a year.

WHAT'S NEW . . . we'd like to know too, so send along anything that is news to another DPS member - such as changes of address, size of the family, or telephone number. We'd also like to hear any bright new ideas on equipment that you may have discovered - or new food for backpacks, etc.

Sincerely,
Bill Henderson
