RICHTER, (Continued from Page 1)

Aside from the potential list finish of mine on East Ord there will be a ceremonial return of the calf s leg Patty gave me at the banquet to Granite on Saturday. We will stay that night at Granite for a car camp with a big campfire, stories of the old days, and plenty of good cheer.

As to restricted trips, Maris Valkass will lead Kofa from Palm Canyon on March 11 assisted by me. Again, I hope more of our E rated leaders will consider scheduling Weaver's Needle, Baboquivari and Little Picacho.

In closing let us in the words of Doug Mantle "celebrate" the life of Vi Grasso our friend and DPS and SPS list finisher. Vi told me once that of all her climbs from the East Face of Whitney to the high snows of the Himalayas she was probably proudest of time she trailed a rope up Babo climbing it free. Vi, we will miss your spirit and your laughter.-- Dan Richter 11/8/94

TREASURER'S REPORT
by Linda McDermott, Treasurer

For the period 9/1/94 through 70/31/94, DPS had income of $216.37 and expenses of $326.98 for an ending balance of $4,347.11. Our income included a whopping $6.57 for almost two months of interest (every bit helps}. Please congratulate John McCully for cutting our Sage costs dramatically. Any connection with being newly married, John? Part of the cost reduction comes from reducing the size of the SAGE and part from a printer who uses a new Xerox product called a "DocuTech" which reduces the cost/page. Any connection with recent marriage is purely accidental. - Editor.

Anyone who wants to donate or host our refreshments for the monthly evening meeting please let Patty Kline know. These meetings are always interesting - join our friendly group if you have not attended a meeting yet or are new to the section.

T-shirts are still available, however large sizes are on order. Mediums and extra large are available in most colors. All T-shirts have the new logo. A few of the turquoise sweatshirts (old logo) are still available however with the new season and COLD weather coming, I'm sure they will sell quickly at $10 each!
