Whitey remains profusive in his praise of our climbing team which was certainly a big help to him, Jeremiah and his family. He reports that he has practiced carrying first aid and extra clothes on hikes he has taken with his children since the accident. He says we and the accident taught him a lesson.

The report on Jeremiah. He had eleven (11) screws and a plate installed in his ankle, was hospitalized for three days and as yet has no prognosis as to when he will be recovered from the accident. He drove back to Tahoe with a cast on his leg. Whitey reports that when the sheriffs team arrived they insisted that the ice ax splint be removed and that an air splint be used instead. Whitey did not like that idea but went along with it. Jeremiah found that option be much more painful than the ice ax. The doctors at the hospital indicated that they wished the ice ax had been left on as it provided better stabilization.

The equipment will be mailed to Charlie on Monday. Lolo washed it all yesterday. -- Al Conrad.
