Meeting convened at 7:18 PM
Banquet arrangements were discussed. The Committee voted to hold the banquet Wednesday May 4, 1994 at Taix Restaurant in Echo Park. The ticket price was budgeted to be $22.00 based on 80 attendees. Subsequently Steve Smith agreed to be the banquet speaker and present his talk and slide show on the canyons and trails in the Inyos.
The Committee also voted to award Polly Schiffman, the speaker at the December monthly meeting, with a DPS T-shirt.
Patty, also, discussed the plans to hold another Management Committee meeting prior to December's
DPS monthly meeting.Meeting adjourned at 7:36 PM

Patty and Myrna reviewed recent outings and forthcoming outings.
Steve Smith presented an outstanding slide show of his recent trip to climb Aconcogua (sic). The slide show was hampered toward the end by the uncooperative slide projector.

Myrna Roach, substituting for Patty Kline, conducted the meeting by announcing the availability of mountaineering insurance and reviewing past and future scheduled DPS outings.
Polly Schiiffman, California State University at Northridge professor, presented an excellent thought and discussion provoking slide show on ecological similarities between the desert and the grasslands with primary focus on the Carrizo Plain north of Los Angeles. Several attendees exhibited an interest in visiting the Carrizo Grasslands Preserve in the spring to view the reputed floral display and the kangaroo rats.
