FIRST AID COURSE |

A wilderness first aid course is being offered by the Sierra Club in June. Topics include splinting, wilderness transportation, altitude sickness, snow blindness, bandaging, - heat and cold injuries, support taping of a sprained ankle, and selecting a first aid kit. Emphasis is on wilderness skills and includes hands-on practice and accident simulations. The course will be held on June 7 and 19-21 and costs $80. A current Red Cross standard first aid card is a required prerequisite and may be obtained in an optional June 6 class costing $25. The first weekend of the course will be held in Orange County while the second weekend is at the Keller Hut. Meals and lodging for the second weekend are included in the $80.
