DPS MEMBERSHIP SURVEY TO BE REPEATED
Because of the Interest shown in the DPS membership survey, I am planning to do it again, perhaps in the Sage instead of at a meeting, or perhaps in both places. 13th ANNUAL L.A. SIERRA CLUB PHOTO EXHIBIT AND AUCTION
Saturday- Dec. 12, 1987, 6-9p.m. Los Angeles Photography Center, 412 S. Parkview St. L.A. Fine prints by Camera Committee members and an autographed book by Paul Caponigro will be' available for sale. Also, as a special guest, Robert Glenn Ketchum, author, photographer, and curator for the National Parks Foundation (American Photographers and the National Parks), will be present to autograph his new book, THE TONGASS, ALASKA'S VANISHING RAIN FOREST (copies will be available for sale at the auction). Proceeds of the auction will support Sierra Club activities and programs. For example, the Camera Committee donated $1,000 to the Angeles Chapter and $250 to the California Wildlife, Coastal, and Parks Initiative. This is a great opportunity to see fine nature photography by local Sierra Club photographers, to buy a very special gift, and promote conservation at the same time. CAROLYN WEST VOLUNTEERS TO WORK FOR DPS Carolyn West saved DPS over $60 by mailing the first issue of the SAGE under L.A. Chapter bulk mailing permit. She has agreed to continue to mail the SAGE and by doing so will save the section about $400 a year. Carolyn also volunteered to represent DPS at the Chapter Council monthly meetings. Sherry Harsh, our current rep had to resign because of work commitments. |
