| The DPS's 19th Annual Meeting was held at Harwood Lodge on November 19-20, 1960. Six DPSers were present along with 9 guests. The DPS had 136 members. Old Woman Mtn was voted onto the DPS list bringing the total of peaks to 51. Officers elected were Harry Melts, Chair; John Robinson, VCh; Monroe Levy, Secty-Treas; Walt Wheelock, Member-at-Large and Editor. |

| New members this period included Bob Michael of Pomona (now of Santa Barbara), and How Bailey. Membership was up to approximately 160. New peaks voted onto the DPS list were Marble Mtn (since delisted but still a nice climb), Turtle Mtn, and Jacumba bringing the list to a total of 65. The by-laws still called for a term running from 6/1 to 5/31 and Gene Gail was elected Chair; Parker Severson, VCh; Ernie Spiehler, Secty-Treas; Arkel Erb, Member-at-Large; Bob Greenawalt, Member-at-Large and Editor. |

| New officers in 1970 were John Vitz (being power hungry), Chair; Jon Inskeep (being inherently evil), VCh; Fran Smith (being money hungry), Secty-Treas; Lee Stockton (being socially inclined), Prog Ch; Jerry Haven (being lazy), Member-at-Large; Jerry Haven & John Vitz, Editors. New members included Betty Wallin, Fred Bode, George Barnes and Milosh Benesh. New emblem holders included George Davis, Duane McRuer, Jay Wiley, Bob Smith and John Backus. Membership was up to about 180. Mummy Mtn and Mitchell were added to the peak list bringing the total to 75. (6 more were added the next year!). |

| Needle and Chemehuevi were added to the DPS Peak list in 1975 bringing the total peaks to 85. New emblem holders include Lou Cavalieri, Don Gabiner, JoAnna Stein and Jack Grams. New members included Bill Stauffer and John Wallin bringing our membership to about 190. George Hubbard was elected Chair and the only other officer listed by the management committee in the SAGE was Barbara Reber as Secty-Treas and Editor. |

| Officers this period were Barbara Reber, Chair & Editor; Doug Mantle, VCh; Vi Grasso, Secty-Treas; Fran Smith, Prog Ch; Ron Bartell, Council Rep. The last peak list was printed in the SAGE in April 1980 & showed 93 peaks on our list. Membership stood at about 220 persons. Bob Hicks and Cathy Robinson became new Emblem holders. |

| Maris Valkass is currently serving as Chair for the '85-'86 season; Bill Bradley, VCh; Sherry Harsh, Secty; J. Holshuh, Treas; Randy Bernard as Prog. Ch; Barbara Reber as SAGE Editor. No new peaks were added this five year period and the DPS peaks list still remains at 93 while active membership stands at about 190. Is there some correlation between our desire to vote suitable new qualifying peaks to our peak list and our membership total?? -- RON |
