Welcome to the 1985/1986 Desert Peaks Season !
The last time most of you were in the desert (except for hastily driving through) was in April or May. Ron Jones and I however, led a trip each month throughout the summer. Jim Farkas took some of us over the 4th of July to Arizona and Utah. Some of the days were quite warm as Sherry Harsh, Steven Crooks, or Adrienne Knute will testify. The others were just as pleasant as in the Sierras. These trips demonstrate that we do not have to hibernate during the warmer months, just be prepared and pick the appropriate peaks. Notably, except for Death Valley, we did not have a lack of participants.
Our Fall/Winter schedule is super! There is a trip going almost every weekend. Much thanks to Dale Van Dalsem, who has caught "the" fever, and is leading ten trips.
