We followed the
major wash E, past point 2018, hiked up the next ridge, and followed the ridges
to the summit. Everyone who came got the peak. About seven of us decided to be
on the safe side and climbed the lower summit. Delores Holladay and Marta
Solman were among the seven. Since we split up, Dale Van Dalsem and Bob Meador
led the larger group down a different way. We all met at the junction of the
two canyons that we were descending. WE were back at the cars by 3 pm. All went
well, and we did not loose more than the allotted 5%. On the way back our car stopped at the Wheel Inn, in Cabazon, where the dinosaurs are. We had a fine dinner, and we enjoyed the truck stop atmosphere. Many thanks to Ron Jones for coleading, and Dale Van Dalsem and Bob Meador for helping out. My thanks go also to all the participants, and I hope to see you all soon. |
