OCTOBER 1 DESERT PEAK SECTION meeting (WED) at the Youth Services Center, 3317 Bellevue Ave, LA at 7,30 PM. JIM DODSON, Chairperson of Desert Conservation Committee, will present a program on "The California Desert". Various aspects of the revised BLM plans will be given consideration. These plans cover large desert areas and will be of interest to those that spend many hours in these areas.
PROPOSED OUTING
Bob Michael has proposed a Desert Peaks Outing to Pagoda Mtn. (13,497) in the Longs Peak group of Rocky Mtn National Park on the Weekend of Sept. 28-29. This is a very rugged peak rising over some of the wildest and fiercest terrain in Colorado and can he done in one long day from his home, 14 mi RT and 5,000' gain.
