1963: Chairman (63-64) - Trudie Hunt

Tajo Canyon top-to-bottom knapsack drew 37 with Bud Bernard as guest leader. Bob Greenawalt's~ Grand Canyon north-to-south rim knapsack and bus trip brought out 90, all-time DPS attendance record. Andy Smatko triumphed on Arc Dome (5th try) but goofed on Big Picacho. Section founder Chester Versteeg passed away.

1964: Chairman (64-65) - Bob Greenawalt

Membership reached 105. 36 climbed Rabbit, led by John Robinson. Hugh Parshall led 20 up White Mtn. Baboquivari Peak over Thanksgiving, 12 followed Lothar Kolbig and Abe Siemens to summit.

1965: Chairman (65-66) - Gene Gail

47 on New Year's outing in Kofas led by Hugh Parshall, 31 climbed peak. Memorial weekend bus trip to Grand Canyon, Ed Ostranga and Jess Logan led 47 across. Joint SPS-DPS Labor Day trip to dedicate Mt. Chester Versteeg on Sierra Crest led by John Robinson. Niles Werner, #2 emblem holder, passed away.

1966: Chairman (66-67) - Bud Bingham

Picacho del Diablo made emblem peak; Gene Gail and John Robinson led 42 to summit over Thanksgiving. Graham Stephenson and Eric Schumacher led 12 up Snow Creek to top of San Jack in May, perhaps most strenuous DPS trip ever. DPS joined annual Death Valley Encampment, Bob Greenawalt led 25 to Telescope Peak.

1967: Chairman (67-68) - Abe Siemens

Dick Sykes led 43 up Telescope, most scheduled DPS peak (14 times). Bud and Bep Bingham, John Thornton, Frank Sanborn, and John Robinson joined Kellogg-Dart search in Baja. Thanksgiving trip to Picacho del Diablo, led by Dick Beach and Ed Lane, marred by death of Joe Darrow. Andy Smatko, with all DPS peaks under his belt, starts project to climb every high point in San Bernardino County.
