1954: Chairman - Willard Dean

85 at Third Triennial Banquet at Rainbow Angling Club in Azusa, program on Barranca del Cobre by Martin Litton and Ray Smith. 55 on Lloyd Balsam's Glass Mtn. trip over Memorial Day weekend, 41 made summit. Walt Heninger's Martinez bus trip drew 41, traverse from Palms-to-Pines Highway to Vallery Jean's. 31 out of 32 made Dubois over July 4th weekend, tribute to leadership of Bill and Marge Henderson, 22 continued to Boundary and Montgomery. Section membership reached 85.

1955: Chairman - Parker Severson

Walt Heninger's two-bus trip to Providence Mts. and Mitchell Caverns in April attracted a whooping 81, D.PS record until 1963. Strenuous New York Butte-Keynot traverse along top, of Inyos led by Walt Mitchell and Lee Owings, 23 on New York Butte, only 12 struggled to Keynot summit, Frank Sanborn "lost" for day. DPS said goodbye to Sierra with two summer trips. Tyndall led by John Delmonte and Tunnabora led by George Wallerstein, Sierra then turned over to newly-formed SPS. Pat Meixner and Lee Owings chased off Boundary Peak after dark by flying saucer.

1956: Chairman - Bill Henderson

DPS membership passed century mark. Tom and Trudie Hunt led 35 up Sentinel, largest DPS crowd of year. Coxcombs backpack drew 26, following Bill and Marge Henderson. First trip to Mt. Inyo, John Robinson led 10 up from Owens Valley, Bud Bingham 4 from Saline Valley joined forces on summit.

1957: Chairman - Bob Bear

Fourth and last Triennial Banquet again at Rainbow Angling Club, Azusa; Weldon Heald spoke on proposed Wheeler Peak National Park. Walt Heninger's bus trip to Sheephole attracted 75. All-night rain ruined Rabbit Peak backpack of John Robinson and Frank Sanborn only 8 of 26 drenched climbers continued to wet summit. Bristlecone Pines on White Mtn visited by 30, led by Bob Bear.
