WHERE EAGLES FLY | DICK BANNER | |||||||
Today I climbed
where Eagles fly A pinnacle that stabbed the sky A rock on which no foot has set A dare to get A challenge met. As I stood upon the crest Satisfied I was the best Around me soared an Eagle rare How high I'd climbed he didn't care He had no limit, except the air. A whisper from his pinions came As though the wind had called his name He caught a draft and disappeared Above me in the stratosphere He'd gone, I knew not where. But I'd have traded lives with him----- Then and there//// |
