EL CLUB de EXPLORACIONES de MEXICO

Otis McAllister, who 52 years ago founded El Club de Exploraciones de Mexico was personally honored by President Luis Echeverria of Mexico at a great reunion on Cortez Pass, between the two volacanoes Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl.
A native of San Francisco, California, Mr. McAllister, after graduating from Harvard University, went to Mexico, where he has since made his home.
Like our club sections, el club exploraciones has developed an emblem. Formed of Aztec hyroglyphics representing water, mountain and tree, it conveys in its deeper meaning an aspiration toward something noble, a state of harmony with the constructive principals of nature instead of the artificiality of civilization, a life that gets its happiness giving the best that it has.
The club celebrated its 5Oth year by climbing Picacho del Diablo.
