THE DESERT PEAKS SECTION NEWSLETTER

NOVEMBER-DECEMBER        NUMBER 109

PEEPS FROM THE PEAK    -     Fran Smith

After three meetings and numerous telephone calls, the Management Committee has revised the DPS Bylaws - a copy is part of this Newsletter. If two-thirds of the DPS members approve at the January meeting, we will have a more workable set of Bylaws.

Voices heard in the Section have requested climbs with a slow pace. For these people we offer the following:
   December 11-12 Sombrero and Jacumba
January 8-9 Chuckwalla and Eagle #1
January 22-23 Spectre and Granite #2
Check Sierra Club Schedule or leader for details.

Plaudits from your chairman to:
Carol Miller - careful planning before leading climb.
John Vitz six good Newsletter in a row on time.
Dennis Lantz - arranging for White Mtn outing even though nature snowballed it.
Miriam Romero - concern for Death Valley pupfish and for helping create concern in others.
Al Campbell - helpful comments on bylaws revision and to the Management committeemen whose the thoughtful discussions made the revisions.
Jon Inskeep - Winning the battle for our money.

Parting thought - anybody who isn't confused today isn't well informed.
