| LETTERS TO THE EDITOR | |
(Post card received postmarked Tecopa Hot Springs) Dear Editor: Ever since escaping from the icy clutches of Jay Sukiyaki on the slopes of Mt. Fujiyama I have been trying to get warm. My girl friend and fellow climber, Sue Whyman, advised me to go soak my bod in a desert hot spring. Ole Harvey Mudfoote piled all our climbing gear; ice axes, crampons, Mai Tai, rum mix and other essentials (I remembered to bring calomine lotion to treat the desert poison oak I expected to contract) in the side car of his Harley Davidson, tied me on the back with his Kernmantle rope and we took off for a summer ascent of Avawatz Pk., stopping enroute at the Inyo County baths at Tecopa. While we were stopped there he fell in love with one of the ladies he saw coming out of the bath house and took off her with, leaving me behind. Please ask someone in your next climbing group to stop and pick me up. |

P.S. None of the other gents coming out of the hot spring looks so hot to me. |
