In the past the Sierra Peaks Section has Scheduled their trips in the good time of the year and the Desert Peaks Section was stuck with the winter time for our trips. But no more. Starting this year we are scheduling all of our trips for mid~summer. The advantages of the new schedule are obvious. We can climb faster because we will not have to carry warm clothes or rain gear. Our cars will not get stuck in the mud. And DPSers will acquire the best tans of any section of the Sierra Clnb. A complete summer schedule will be printed in the next issue of The Desert Rage.
The DPS has always been primarily an intellectual organization. To promote the high type of intellectual intercourse that has been a characteristic of our campfires and meetings The Desert Rage beginning with this issue, is printing a selection of the best poems written by our members. If you have ability in poetry writing and would like to offer your poems to The Desert Rage for consideration, please send them to the editor.
Another special feature, following the poems in this issue, is the inclusion of an artistic poster suitable for framing and hanging in your home or office. I am sure that you will agree with me that the poster alone is worth the price of this Rage.
