Paul Nelson and Larry Gail took over for the original leaders, Tom and Trudy Hunt, who were in Mexico, Although Los Angeles was particularly hot and smoggy that week, the weather on the climb could not have been more pleasant, After the road up Mazourka Canyon became practical only for a Jeep, the hardy climbers took to feet. A maze of roads not exactly like the map lend a bit of sport to the meandering in this area. When you decide the road is not heading the right direction, bush whack over a little rise and find that the road curved right around and would have been much easier. This is an easy climb, at a fairly good altitude, and offering a magnificent view of the Sierra crest. A grand time was had by all.
