COMING EVENTS

Feb 25-26 Little Picacho-only a 1,947' high summit but packed class 6 thrills, guaranteed to give a weekend long to be remembered. The Erbs Will conduct the technical portions and get everyone on a safe round trip.
Mar 1 Wed nite-Remember the Annual Business Meeting. This time at Silver Lake-not SC Hq. Elections will get under way soon hereafter.
Mar 11-12 Paiute Monument-another visit to our old favorite area in Owens Valley. The peak itself will be an exploratory climb. If time is with us, Andrews Mtn may be attempted on Sunday. Arkel Erb and Ed Lane have consented to lead this one.
March 18-19 Maturango & Burl Parkinson Pks near Trona. Good climbs, the latter named in respect of one of our late DPS climbers. Bill Banks and Steve Smith know the routes and will command.
Mar 25-26 Amargosa River Canyon Traverse-no peaks! Just a stroll thru one of our watered desert canyons, probably the most level DPS event ever designed! Greenawalt and Parshall know how to dodge the game along the way-mainly range cattle. Sperry to Tocopa.
Apr 5 Wed ANNUAL BANQUET
Apr 8-9 Muddy Peak and Muddy Mtn High Point~NE of Las Vegas are two peaks which are being climbed in an exploratory fashion. About 6,000' elev. Erb and Harry Melts will see that we get there, we hope!
Apr 22-23 Spirit Mtn & Avawatz Peak. Bill Hunt and Jess Logan take us to the Searchlight and so. Death Valley areas for two Qualifying Peaks.
