On Waucoba Mountain
| Well folks, it's finally going to
happen! Bill Stevens is going to be finishing the DPS list this June 18th on
Waucoba Mountain. Bill, to his credit, has not rushed through the list, but
instead has taken his to time savor each peak climbed along the way. For a
while there we figured Bill was doing too much savoring and not enough
climbing, but he's quietly snuck up on the last few peaks and is just about
ready to join the ranks of his other crazy "list finish" friends. To
commemorate this long- awaited event, we're inviting you to join Bill and
friends for both the climb and a rip snortin' dinner party afterwards under the
stars. Mark your calendar to be there and cheer Bill on as he bags the last big
one! Dave Jurasevich and Les Hill will be organizing this event and helping to guide Bill up the horrific, ice fluted east face of Waucoba in his bid for the summit and everlasting fame and glory. OK, so maybe it's not that big a deal, huh? Anyway, the climb will be on Saturday, June |
Dinner will be a potluck affair, with everyone being asked to bring one dish (appetizer, main, or dessert) to share and a few pieces of wood for the campfire. Let's be creative and bring some unusual dishes on this trip. Staple food supplies such as beer, wine and champagne will be needed in great quantities. |
Presently there are no hiking plans
for Sunday. I'm sure we'll come up with some ideas Saturday night around the
