Meeting convened at 6:38 PM.
Patty (Chair) circulated Dave Cavena's crackpot letter to Diane Feinstein regarding the Desert Bill and her rebuttal to the letter.
Myrna (Outings Chair) suggested sending out a form letter to non-members participating in DPS outings (participants and leaders) offering them the opportunity to become members of the DPS.
The issue regarding synchronization of the Sage subscription calendar, fiscal calendar, voting privileges, and the DPS climbing season was discussed and it was decided to schedule another meeting to complete the discussion.
Ron (Treasurer) reported on the healthy state of the DPS treasury. Igor (Secretary) was asked to report membership statistics at the next meeting.
Suzanne (Program Chair) opened the discussion of potential banquet facilities and banquet speakers. Discussion to be continued at the next meeting.
Dan (Council Rep) reported on the decision to allow ham radio operators on Sierra Club outings. Useful for search and rescue operations.
Proposal to add another achievement award (e.g., Desert Rat pin) to be formalized by Igor for next meeting.

Patty reported the Council decision on ham radio operators.
Larry Tidball showed an excellent slide presentation on the SI'S conquest of Mount Mera and Island Peak in Nepal last year.
