Ron, RE new peaks to be proposed for the list. I strongly recommend an active effort to solicit anti-comments.... Bob Hicks

I asked Bob to submit his "anti-comments". He thought it an appropriate request but sent nothing. -Editor Dear Editor:

Beware. Conspirators seek to mutilate the DPS, driven by boredom. They offered the Ghostown Emblem, the 17-peak potpourri; now it's the Miserable Seven.
As they openly admit their membership, work stealthily for the objective which is nothing less than total section domination, I say they are Trilateralists. That's been taken? How about Valkassesses? They eschew no editorial device, no omission of fact, no obfuscation of the issues to win. A few cases in point:
They propose to add Saline Peak to the list, should they not tell us this Peak has repeatedly been rejected before? They tell us the Peak is '7 miles from Saline Hot Springs...has been done in 2WD...' Should we be told it's 33 miles of dirt road to the start of that drive, that the remainder took 2-1/2 hours per one write-up? Dale, on the other hand, tells us 'Peak is really a large crud heap'. They offer us 'a challenging day hike', Sugarloaf. I'll say. One trip took three days for the job, hauling 24 pounds of water. Why did no one bother to climb the thing for a decade after the first ascents? Could it be that groups, like I, on nearby Manly and Needle Peaks did not identify this one as a conceivable objective?
I think Mormon is a nice enough peak. No, however, I did not suggest it. We deserve to know DPS has voted it down before, don't past votes count for anything? They tell us a Porsche reportedly made this drive. I refused to make the drive in a rental car, thanks.
They tell us Mt. Moriah is about 200 miles from Las Vegas. Actually, it's 290, making it a 1200 mile round-trip. Past DPS management came up with guidelines for adding peaks, including distance considerations. Why do they completely ignore such guidelines here (as well as any gas-saving ideals)?
Members, recall, this same bunch who now protests they are simply looking to improve the quality of the list gave us Canyon Point. 'No Palm, no view, no peak'----doesn't that apply here?
