COUNCIL REP REPORT . . .

New Quarters

The Chapter is settling into the new offices on the fifth floor of the Wilshire One building. If you're visiting, it is located just north of Wilshire on Kenmore, signed "Wilshire Square." It has its own parking complete with attendant, and there is a security guard at the lobby entrance.

New Orange County Group

The Sierra Sage of Southern Orange County is organized, in business, and there were 125 at the first meeting.

Volunteer Training Workshops

One of the investments the chapter is making is in volunteer training workshops. These are on various topics, and are an attempt to make better utilization of member resources. A survey is being circulated to gain better insight into volunteer interest.

SAGE COLLECTIONS TO BE AUCTIONED AT DECEMBER MEETING

Gene Olsen has generously donated to the DPS a collection of SAGE's from December 1968 through November 1991 (numbers 98 through 216) in quite good condition and in notebook style binders.
In his position as archivist Bill T. Russell has another set of SAGE's from 1951 through 1970 (numbers 1 through 102, but 95, 98 and 100 are missing). Many of these SAGE's are in poor condition, reproduction techniques not being as good as they are today. Since the archivist already has a complete set of SAGE's in better condition it has been decided to auction off this extra set.
Each of these collections will be available for inspection at the December meeting and will be auctioned off just before the break to the highest bidder. Anyone interested in buying one or both of these sets of SAGE's should attend (or send you representative) to the December meeting. The money will go to the section. -- John McCully
