The newest list addition. Canyon Point, is not a great favorite--it also made the list of peaks to delete. The suggested deletions again favored Navajo and Maturango (4 each), the Mexican peaks (3), and Porter (2), with Canyon Point, Dubois, Glass, Eagle #1, East Ord, Jacumba, Orocopia, and Sandy Point each earning 1 vote.

For prettiest campsites, the winners were S. Guardian Angel (5), the Great Falls Basin (Argus) and Baboquivari (3 each), Boundary/Montgomery, Mopah, New York Mountain, Pico Risco, Telescope, and the Trigo Mountains (2 each), and 1 vote each for Arc Dome, Borrego Springs, Campo Noche, Cerro Pinacate, Glass, Hayford, Inyo, Kofa Palm Canyon, Last Chance, Lehman Creek, Nelson, Saline Valley, Sombrero/Jacumba, Spectre, Tipton, Wheeler, and White.

Finally, many peaks were suggested-for list addition by only one person: Angels Rest, Beatty Butte, Blue Dick, Cima Dome, Currant Mountain, Dyadic, Epaulet, Hualapai, Ibapah, Marble, Mormon, Muddy, Needle Eye, N. Schell, Pinto, South Sister, Tinejas, Troy, and Wrightson. Moriah got 8 nominations, Saline 7, Dawn's Peak and Magruder 4 each, Mojave 3, and Ke1baholt 2. WHY NOT DELETE SOME OF THE LOSERS ABOVE AND ADD SOME OF THESE NEW ONES NEXT YEAR?

DPS SURVEY RESULTS: MEETING ATTENDANCE

The survey reached those who do not attend meetings! 46 of the 55 respondents do not come to meetings; only 9 respondents come to meetings and only 5 of those regularly! This may mean that those who come to meetings (usually at least 30) feel their opinions and achievements are known to the leadership, or it may mean that those who come regularly are getting tired of answering the survey. Certainly those who do not attend meetings welcomed the opportunity to express opinions and record particulars about themselves.

The primary reason for non-attendance was distance, for members in Seattle, Sacramento, San Diego, Escondido, and so on. Non-attenders within driving range suggested that good public transport or free taxis would help, as would retirement or a less demanding job. Others wanted a change of location, change to Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday (?), and good speakers on historical, educational, or controversial issues.
