The California Desert Protection Act has been introduced in the Senate. It is known as 521. John Seymour is our new senator who has indicated a willingness to protect the California Desert. We need his support, and to get it we need you to write letters requesting it. The enclosed "Environmental Alert" sheet gives his address and several samples for the letters. You may use any one of them, or write your own. Please don't delay, write now! The New Desert Committee. Last month I was appointed the Chair of the Desert Committee. Your participation on the Committee, or on various projects that are planned and will be scheduled is needed and is requested. Please give us some of your time. The Committee will meet every fourth Thursday of the month, at the Sierra Club Office, at 7;30 p.m.

Call any officer of the Desert Committee for the time and place of the March monthly meeting and beyond. Officers are:
