MEET THE CANDIDATES PAT ACHESON |
Pat has never served on a section
management committee, but she brings to the table much enthusiasm to serve the
DPS. She has been mountaineering and hiking with the Sierra club for 8 years
and has been climbing with the DPS for 4 years. She is active with the DPS. SPS
and River Touring Sections. Besides that she is an avid cyclist, kayaker and
birder. Pat says 'I don't have the management committee experience, but I do have a real love of the desert and the desire to give time and energy back to a section that has given me much - and what's more important than that? |
BILL GRAY |
Bill is currently serving as the
DPS Vice Chair/Outings. In addition he has served as Outings Chair for the
Orange County Group, Treasurer for the Orange County Group, Assistant Group
Leader for BMTC, and Safety Committee for BMTC. Bill is an 'E' rated leader and
leads for both DPS and SPS. Bill says I believe that those who enjoy outings with the Sierra Club Group and Sections should repay in some degree by occasionally volunteering for an office, or by taking leader ship training and occasionally leading an outing. |
PATTY KLINE |
Patty has served as Programs Chair
this year which adds to her list of offices held, HPS Programs Chair 1987,
Camera Committee Social Chair 1984-1990, HPS Chair 1988, HPS Treasurer 1990 and
HPS Outings/Vice-Chair 1991. Patty has 230 HPS Peaks, 20 DPS Peaks, and 42 SPS
Peaks. Patty says "The more of the desert I see, the more that austere, serene beauty grows on me. Outings are a lot of the pleasure I get from the DPS. Another part is having the opportunity to serve on the management committee." |

year as our Secretary. He has been a 15 year member of the HPS, SPS and DPS. He
