MILEAGE: 240 miles, 7 miles good dirt.
DRIVING: Ocotillo, Cal. on I-8, drive North 1/2 mile on county road S-2 turn left, West, it then curves NW total of 8.2 mile to Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. From here continue .4 mile to: good dirt road, turn left SW 3.9 to Dos Cabezas. At the RR tracks turn left South for 1.6 mile then cross the tracks. Follow road, left fork, 1.8 mile more to Dos Cabezas Springs, or Mortero Palms.
HIKE: Ascend the gully SW across the flat area and ascend prominent sw ridge to summit ridge, turn left SE passing false summits to peak. Peak not identified by name on map. One may descend NE gully continuing to Dos Cabezas Springs.
GAIN: 2000 ft. ROUNDTRIP: 6 miles, 7 HOURS
