The Desert Sage

Chairman's Corner
30 October l985

One of our goals this year is to encourage our members to enroll in leadership training. I am happy to report that six of our people attended the LTP lectures in October. These were: John Leonard, Igor Mamedalin, Suzanne Thomas, Richard Lejnieks, Judy Ware, and Don Weiss.

After many years of keeping track of the DPS roster, and providing mailing labels, Ron Bartel is retiring from this job. Gerry Holleman has agreed to take his place. Our thanks to Ron for his long service and good performance, and thanks to Gerry for stepping up when we need him.

In the last SAGE the advanced emblem was discussed. The plan is to place it on the next ballot with changes as suggested by the members. I am asking now that members submit possible names for the emblem so that it may be voted also in the next election. Please submit them no later than 30 December to me.

I hope that everyone noticed the front page of the last SAGE. The DPS logo, the bighorn, looked like the fine handsome animal it really is. Thanks to Anna Leong and her artistic talents who revitalized the artwork.

We have published in the SAGE minutes of several meetings that have been held by the Management Committee. I hope that you found them informative. If there were ideas that you liked (or could not stand), please let us know. A post card only costs l5¢.
