The new DPS season is off to a good start. The DPS Trip Guide is now in preparation Under the able hands of Ron Jones. As peak guides are prepared for currently scheduled trips, they will be furnished to the leaders for verification.
Our records indicate a downward drift in DPS membership -- about fifteen percent over the last five years. This reduces the opportunity of many club members to enjoy our unique desert terrain. In an effort to reverse this trend, the Outings Chair will provide trip leaders with sign-in sheets for each DPS trip. These sheets will have a column to check-off DPS membership status. Sign-in sheets will be returned to the Outings Chair and I will follow-up with letters to each of the non-DPS participants.
Encourage your friends who may not be current, or may have not bothered to join us, to send in their memberships.
