There are THREE LONG WEEK-ENDS coming up (at the time of writing this) before the end of the year for those of us who can chisel that extra day which separates the holidays from the week-ends proper. I'm sure all who can get away will have joined the scheduled trip over Thanksgiving to Picacho and Castle Dome, and will want to join the trip over New Years to the Coxcomb and Big Maria Mts. In addition there will be some of us planning a four day week-end including Christmas. Is there anyone interested in joining the Bears on their annual return to Death Valley? I have cast eager eyes in the direction of Thimble Peak off the Titus Canyon Road for many a year, and have an overwhelming desire to pay that out-of-the-way peak a visit - on the top of course. Miller, Bryce, 4855 Beaumont Dr., La Mesa Ramstedt, Eugene, 4271 Wightman St., San Diego 5 In early December there are a couple of Desert Peaks activities that many will want to attend: First is the trip to Rabbit Peak that Bill Henderson and John Delmonte are leading on Dec. 8-9. Second is the DPS program at Boos Bros. on Friday, Dec. 14, when we'll show the pictures of recent trips to El Picacho del Diablo.
