On December 24 the DPS sent a letter Murray Rosenthal summarizing its objections to the proposed on location and coordination of trips. A meeting will be held in January to finalize the position of the Angeles Chapter with respect to the proposed outings policy.

EDITOR'S COMMENTS:

It appears the National chapter feels their outings program is threatened by lack of interest and local outings so they see fit to dictate to local chapters re outings. The new rules state "outings outside the region shall not compete with a National outing in space and time." Once again we have no vote. The DPS has been climbing in the Desert since l947. Now we need permission///////// Does this dictation follow the reason for the Sierra Club to explore, enjoy and preserve.
