CONSERVATION CORNER PAUL LIPSOHN

By the time this issue reaches you, many of you will have participated in the Darwin Canyon cleanup.
Upcoming trips to the Argus- Maturango area to assist the DFG in construction and maintenance of springs are scheduled for the following weekends:
NOV. 23-24.... Campbell
DEC. 21-22.... Akawie
JAN. 25-26.... Treacy
FEB. 22-23.... Schmidts
Hopefully, the DPS may overcome its inherent apathy and field a respectable turnout for these trips.
Our cleanup trip to the Clipper Mts. is still up in the air. We are trying to dovetail our efforts with the Riverside BLM office. More on this trip later...
We have obtained a quantity of large litter bags from the BLM to help clean up our trailhead campsites. Bags will be supplied to trip leaders as the schedule progresses.
The Desert Tortoise Preserve is still very much in need of funds..although we've sold over 300 pins. The attractive pins make good Christmas items and help to get the fence built. If you don't have one, now's the time. If ordering by mail, please send an s.a.s.e. to ensure delivery.
