Due to the energy crisis some trips may not go as scheduled. To avoid going on a trip only to find that it has been cancelled all participants must contact the leaders to be sure the trip will go and for last minute instructions and car pooling. In addition to the trips shown below, there will be two trips to Picacho del Diablo lead by Paul Lipsohn and Ron Fracisco. Permission of the leaders is mandatory for these trips. Please contact them for details and permission. |

NEWS The $ 160 million, 1061 mile ribbon of asphalt in Baja, Ca. is finally finished and was dedicated Dec. 1. To the Mexicans this means new prosperity from the Gringo tourists. To the lovers of unspoiled Mexico this is the end of a dream. However if Mexico has problems with gasoline, the tourist may be unable to pollute Baja. The new highway has some perils. Water is scarce, speedy communications are difficult, accommodations are virtually nil, auto repair service is limited, parts scarce, side roads rough and there is a language barrier. |
