CHAIRMAN'S CORNER - Paul Lipsohn At the last election, a bit of conflict emerged due to the vote in favor of adding Charleston Peak as an emblem peak, and the vote against changing the emblem requirements to 2/3 of the current emblem peaks. Since the vote of 84 to 35 in favor of upgrading Charleston to emblem status clearly reflects the will of the Section, the following by-laws amendment necessary to effect this change will be formally presented at the October meeting for ratification by the membership. Article IV, Section I |

| ....which shall include five
of the following six peaks:.... change to .... five of the following seven peaks: ... add .... Charleston Peak of the Spring Mountains Range |

It is hoped that this change will give a greater latitude of choice in emblem selection without diluting the emblem requirements. Several other changes in section operation will be necessary to conform with the Outings Impact, Leadership, Guidelines and Outing Safety Guidelines recently adopted by the Angeles Chapter, but the ramifications of these policies have not as yet been fully studied. |
