This is the election issue and even though there are only five candidates for the five spots on the management committee, be sure to fill out your ballots and mail them before the deadline. In addition to the committee positions six peaks have been nominated for addition to the qualifying list. And as an extra added attraction we are conducting a survey of the section members concerning two items of some importance to the section. The first concerns the Angeles Chapter Outings Impact Committee's plans to limit the size of groups on the outings and to put the outings on a reservation basis. The second concerns the San Fernando Valley Group's proposal to charge a fee for participating in any chapter outing. The results of these questions will be passed on to the chapter as the official stand of the DPS concerning said items. Therefore take time in filling out your ballot - but please do it. Finally, this issue and all future issues will be sent to each section member. A shortage of issues in the preceding two caused the sending of one issue to each family unit. Starting this year all dues will be payable by October first of each year. All dues paid so far this calendar year will be good until September 1972. All others should send their dues to the section Treasurer in September of this year. A membership list, including status of dues, will be published in the July-August issue. A new peaks list will be published next issue. |
