apple pie with cheese, and wine with the rescuers the climbers returned to the
roadhead. The helicopter returned to Bishop early this afternoon and reported
the story to this reporter who was on his fifth pre-lunch martini.
Close behind in the race for the second and third spots were Gordon MacLeod and
Eric Schumacher who each need only to conquer Cerro Pescadores in order to
complete the list. They will probably have made it by the time that this goes
into circulation because they are planning to climb the Mexican peak on the
last weekend of January of this year. |
