Douglas Mantle Active in the DPS: 1972-2005 Active in SPS LTC Ski Mountaineers HPS DPS Doug Mantle is certainly one of the most outstanding mountaineers in the history of the chapter. He has climbed all the listed peaks for the SPS DPS and HPS four to five times and is a past chair of the SPS and the Ski Mountaineers. He was presented with the SPS Leadership Award in 1998 and has also been recognized by National with the Francis Farquhar Mountaineering Award in 1994. Doug has climbed the highest mountain on each continent including Everest in 1992.
