Paul Lipsohn Active in the DPS: 1969-2003 Active in HPS SPS DPS Paul Lipsohn was the force behind having a peak named after Weldon Heald the founder of the Hundred Peaks Section and noted conservationist (see Weldon Heald entry). He has been a great explorer of new territories. Paul spent every weekend and vacation for 20 years walking the entire perimeter of the United States. From trails along the Appalachian to the northernmost point of the U.S. Paul walked nearly 15 0 miles and earned the nickname "Long Haul" Paul. He finished this trek on Labor Day 2002 Paul Lipsohn lower right on the summit of Heald Peak April 27 1974 Paul led the dedication climb that day for the Hundred Peaks Section.
