Angeles Chapter leader active in the crucial decade 1958 during which the club was transformed into a truly national organization. Important leader in the San Gorgonio Wilderness battle of the early 1960s (a founder of Defenders of San Gorgonio Wilderness); chaired Southern Section of the Conservation Committee (predecessor of the Southern California Regional Conservation Committee) 1962-65; supported formation of Chapter Advisory Council while chapter chair 1965-66. Marshall was one of the earliest instigators in the movement to reform the club finances resulting in the departure of David Brower as the club's Executive Director. Bob re-emerged in the 1980s taking a prominent role in the establishment of the Gay and Lesbian Section and in chapter politics.
