RABBIT HUNT The Hunts--Tom, Trudie and Peter--climbed Rabbit Peak (6,650 ft.) in the Santa Rosas over Veteran's Day. This is one of the DPS emblem peaks. They describe the trip as follows:

"We backpacked up Friday, had a warm night's sleep till 2:00 a.m. Saturday, arrived on top (clouds on summit) at 7:30 a.m., and got back to our car (which was stuck in the sand) at 4:00 p.m. Met Garver Light on the 'trail' but clouds prevented his reaching the peak. Were thrilled to see four live big-horns and found one arrowhead about 1,000 feet from the summit."
